Chicken Fried Steak

You Will Need:

  • Beef or Venison Cube Steak, or Pork Cutlets
  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of crushed chips or crackers (I save the bottom of the chip bag & place in freezer)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Salt
  • 1 tsp Season Salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 eggs

  • In one bowl mix all the dry ingredients
  • In the other bowl mix the milk and eggs

  • Dip one steak into egg mixture
  • Then dip into dry mixture on both sides.
  • repeat the process.  I like to double dip ours.  Creates a little thicker crust.
  • Drop each coated steak into heated skillet (medium heat) with about 1/4-1/2 inch oil.  Bacon grease gives the best flavor.
  • Brown on each side until Golden Brown.  If you use bacon grease, they will be darker in color.  Don't worry, Its not burnt, UNLESS YOU BURN THEM :)

  • Serve over rice with gravy or with mashed potatoes and gravy.
